The waist beads of love is an ancestral tradition in West Africa.
This adornment is worn as a sign of seduction, sensuality, beauty and fertility with virtues of healing and protection.

For example, among the Akan, the parents of the bride and groom put Baya gold on their daughter during the first week of marriage.

There are different types of Baya:

- The Ferl, makes big pearls that make noise when you move, a beautiful way to arouse the curiosity of men.

- The Môrômôrô which is perfumed and serves to intoxicate his man.
