The wax loincloth is the printed fabrics used in west Africa whose technique is inspired by the Javanese Batiks, made with hydrophobic waxes (Wax means "wax").
The first fabrics of this style were brought back by Ghanaian mercenaries working in Indonesia for the British and Dutch.
